Crimson Cup (Tallmadge Location)

Welcome in! Today we’re talking about Crimson Cup, a staple in Northeastern Ohio with influence down into the Columbus region. This shop carries that flame beautifully, and does its best to both feel like a place of individuality and consistency. If you’re the type of person who feels more comfortable going to a Starbucks, you might find you feel a similar level of comfort here!

Unlike other shops that are tucked out of the way (Heartwood Coffee, Portal West Coffee), Crimson Cup is located squarely in downtown Tallmadge, and makes its presence known. You can’t help but feel bright and happy when walking up to the all-white building, and this brightness continues when you walk in. Overall, the shop is well-lit, vibrant, and inviting. For the Buckeye fans among our readers (of which your humble Beanventurers are), there are OSU colors and Ohio memorabilia everywhere. The shop features modern furniture, long tables, and a bar seating area, perfect for meeting up with friends or settling in to work

Although we came in on a Sunday mid-morning, which could be considered peak time, the store was fairly empty. This isn’t a bad thing, though, as it might be a nice spot to chill and prep for the week. With it being so close to local colleges however, we’d bet that it can get a bit more packed during the school year.

When thinking of how to describe the menu, we definitely agree that this shop is more for the people that like to add rich, creamy flavors to their coffee. Their popular frozen drinks are a yummy sweet treat with just a hint of coffee, while their seasonal drinks add a nice variety. Additionally, they offer breakfast sandwiches, muffins, and cake pops.

Mug alert: this shop not only has mugs, but specific mugs for specific beverages. Double brownie points for sure! Jason is always happy to get his cortado in a Gibraltar glass, and Kali’s coffee came in a cute warm gray mug. Speaking of drinks, Jason’s cortado was very similar to a previous post’s (Nervous Dog), so he’ll be more inclined to try some of their flavored coffee next time. Which is great, because Kali’s coffee with oat milk and vanilla was fantastic. It’s a wonder why they even offer anything else when their coffee is that good, and really the true reason behind Crimson Cup’s tremendous success.

Like other fast-food places, Crimson Cup comes equipped with a drive-through window. Unlike other fast-food places, however, Crimson Cup is not fast food, which makes the drive through all the more appreciated. If you’re short on time, or just need a quick pick-me-up, Crimson Cup has got you covered from your car’s comfort. As we previously mentioned, there’s plenty of places to sit and work, but probably a bit too open to bring a date to. Definitely an excellent spot for catching with friends, which we highly encourage you to do soon!
